Brigadier-Chapter 1:Skyflight Part 3

The group of soldiers dashed towards the windowed left wall of the airship. The bridge-way had already extended to the opposing ships side. Invented in the early 20's, the bridge-way had revolutionized sky-battles. You no longer had to swing out over the fast fall in-between both ships, a sliding platform extended across to an enemy window or door. Sadly, this contraption contained railings, as these tended not to fit very well in the holding compartments underneath ships, and unfolding rails waisted time.

As per traditional design, the bridge-way extended out from a door situated in the middle of the hall. The door had already been thrown open when the soldiers arrived; an event that would save time. Already, the Taimen crew had noticed the assault, and had begun jump onto the bridge, and dash towards Carson's group. The first person out, the Major, caught the first of these men directly in the torso with her blade. He gasped, and fell to the ground. The second, a thin man with glasses, carrying a rifle, ducked underneath Maj. Kira's thrust, and alongside a tall man with a beard, collided with Sergeant. Defferson. He was pushed to the side, and fell, screaming, to the forest below. Glasses raised his rifle directly at Carson. "Hell!" Carson yelled, ducking. The shot skimmed his back, and he felt the sudden burst of pain as it cut through his shirt. Without thinking, Carson pulled the trigger.

Brigadier-Chapter 1:Skyflight Part 2

Carson fought against the human tide of soldiers rushing towards their stations. Most of them were gunners, however he was a raider under the command of Maj. Jennifer Kita, the first female officer of the Air Patrol. She was well built, and could hold her own in a sword or fist fight against most larger men. The stories said that she had personally beaten the recruitment officer in a fight, a big beastly man by the name of Drevner.

Already the other airship had opened fire. Bullets spit through the windows, colliding with the men. A chorus of screams echoed up from the soldiers, most of the men at the front falling, and blood spattering on the ground. Carson turned the corner down the third hallway as The Rose's guns returned fire. The raiders had been instructed to meet in the mess hall, and wait for the preparations to be taken for the gates to be lowered. Carson felt the sweat bead upon his brow, like rain collecting on a rock. He wiped it away quickly with a gloved hand, only to have a second wave return to the place of the first.

The Mess hall was in shambles from the mens sudden departure. Tables lay overturned, and food was strewn across the floor. The airship rocked violently with each blast from the opposing ships cannons, the lights flickering every second or third blast. A group of around 40 soldiers waited in the center of the room, some sitting, others standing, and almost all of them smoking. Carson only personally knew one other man in his platoon, a hometown friend by the name of Carin. The Major was giving out orders to the men, and Carson could only sense a small amount of fear in her voice. "Alright, troops. We're going to hit them hard as soon as we get into the main deck." Looking up, her saber clanging at her waist, she directed at Carson, "Finally decided to show up, huh Carson. Grab a rifle from the pile." She gestured towards a group of weapons on the far wall. As he passed Carin, his friend hissed to him, "Smooth, Carson. Smooth." Carson glared at him, before continuing on his path. In the background, he could hear the Major say "...take the bridge at all costs. We want to take this ship down in one.."  as he grabbed his M1 wooden rifle. It weighed about 15 pounds, and carried about 5 shots per clip. He Grabbed about 5 clips in excess, and shoved them into the ammo box around his waist. A large boom echoed in the distance, in the direction of the opposite ship. "Alright men, let's move!" Jennifer yelled, raising her saber up into the air. The men followed en suite, hoisting their weapons into the air, and yelling. It was time.

Brigadier-Chapter 1:Skyflight

Alongside my comic, I have decided that I will write a story. Creative criticism is appreciated!

Chapter 1:

The cabin was to hot to sleep in. Much to hot. Carson tossed and turned, finally jolting awake. He narrowly avoided crashing his head on the bunk above him, the frame slightly sagging from Jerson, who was snoring soundly over head. He reached over to his watch. 4:00. He still had enough time before The Call to get a little exercise done. Grabbing his uniform, he slid the shirt and pants on, sans jacket. He wouldn't need it today, as it was mid-summer, and an especially hot day at that. Grabbing his cap on the way out , he only paused to shut the door quietly. Turning down the crews quarters hallway, he turned right past an ornately decorated wooden corner. His eyes locked with the wooden eagle only for a moment, and he found himself with a foreboding sense of dread. Shaking it off, he walked down the observation hall, and glanced out at the beautiful Argavion boreal forest beneath, with the sun rising in the back-ground. Before "The Crimson" had been fitted for The War, it had been one of the most luxurious liners to grace Mersania. There were still signs of that now, even if there were gatlin guns instead of vacationers, and rations in place of fine lobster dinners. As he walked past the 5th window on the deck, something in the distance caught his eye. There was something behind a cloud cover, about 37 meters to the side. Carson stared at the ominous shadow, before a section of it pulled out of the clouds. It was a tail-fin with the logo of a dragon on it. Taimaners! he thought, dashing to were the alarm bell was situated. Grabbing at it, he pulled with all his strength, sending the bells at the top of the ship screaming. He dashed in the direction of the armory, to prepare for the battle.

Hope you liked it!
